Thank You!

Thank you all for praying and continuing in prayer for us as we wait! Blane is doing very well. He had visitors all day yesterday which was great, and he was awake the entire time! He sometimes repeats himself, right Shari? And he talks very slow at times, all effects of the anesthesia and pain meds I think. But he really seems great. Saturday he slept almost all day so it was good, especially for our kids, to see him up and talking and, finally, eating solid food! I think things are going very well. Dr. Ney is an early bird so I have missed him everyday. He was there yesterday morning around 5:00am. I've always been an early riser but I can't get the kids out of bed at that time of day.

Well, seems as I am writing this Blane just called to say Dr. Ney left there at 6:00 am this morning. They had removed Blane's epidural last night and put him on oral meds, and since he's been moving around fairly well (he walked the halls about a dozen times yesterday), Dr. Ney is going to send him home a day early! So, he will be coming home late this afternoon, early evening! Praise God for Blane's quick healing! He will continue to recover here at home which is such a blessing. So if any of you want to see Blane in his hospital attire you need to do so before 3:00 today. Thank you all for your continued prayers while we wait for these lab results. I will let you know those results as soon as we get them.

I will leave you with this hymn which is loaded with promises from God's word. If you are like me, you'll want to read it slow since this isn't typical speech for 2008! I love the promises in this hymn!! It includes scripture from Isaiah 43:2; II Corinthians 12:9; Hebrews 13:5 and II Peter 1:4

How Firm A Foundation

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?

In every condition, in sickness, in health;
In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth;
At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
As thy days may demand, shall thy strength ever be.

Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid;
I’ll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;
For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.

The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.

Never, no never, no never....if it still isn't clear, you can add as many no nevers as you need!!!

Much love, in Christ, Chris
